英国伯明翰大学招聘生物学博士后
The postholder will join Robin May’s group, working on a project supported by the Wellcome Trust entitled “Investigating the molecular basis of cryptococcal hypervirulence underlying the "Vancouver Outbreak”.
The project builds on our recent work on the molecular basis of virulence in the human fungal pathogen Cryptococcus (Ma et al. Curr Biol 2006; Ma et al. PNAS, in press). An unusual genotype of this pathogen is responsible for the ongoing Vancouver Island Outbreak and the purpose of this project is to determine the molecular factors that have driven hypervirulence in this lineage.
The post will exploit a combination of microbiology, next-generation sequencing and high-resolution live cell imaging in order to investigate the evolution and mechanism of virulence in this fatal fungal pathogen.
• Applicants must have a first degree and have completed or be about to complete a PhD in a biological or biomedical field.
• Proven experience, ideally demonstrated via a strong publication record, of molecular biology/cell biology/microbiology/genetic techniques is essential
• Experience of working with fungal pathogens or mitochondria would be very advantageous.
• Good spoken and written English and strong communication skills are essential.
• Clear ability to disseminate results via written and oral presentations to both scientific and lay audiences is essential.
• A criminal record bureau check will be required for this post.本回答被提问者采纳
