LiuXiang, a Shanghai native, was born on July 13, 1983. His height is 188 cm, weight 75 kg. Singing and computer are his hobbies. In March, 1999, he entered Shanghai Track and Field Team. and one year later, he was admitted to the National Youth Team. Sun Haiping has been training him. In 2002, he won the gold medals in the men's 110m hurdles at the World Indoor Championships in England. At the Athens Olympic Games on August 27,2004,Liu won the men's 110m hurdles final in 12.91 seconds, equaling the world record set and breaking the Olympic record.

Liu Xiang was born on July 13, 1983 in Putuo District, Shanghai. He is an Olympic Gold medalist and World Champion in the 110 metres hurdles and his 2004 Olympic gold medal was the first in a men's track and field event for China, which is a great accomplishment.
